This Military Mission involved correspondence, wireless communications, reports and meetings between Irish Defence Forces Officers and British and American senior military staff and officials such as the British Air and Naval Attachés, concerning various preparations and plans in the event that Ireland was invaded by Axis forces during World War II.

It also includes the sharing of technical military information by the British and Americans and the provision by the Irish of completed questionnaires on the Irish Defence Forces organisation and strengths, distribution of armoured cars and aircraft, defence structures, military and civilian supplies (such as fuel and food), transport, communications and infrastructure details in Ireland and maps and survey data, etc.
