This collection contains radio and telephone (but predominantly radio) reports generated within the Army during the years 1922 to 1924 and centred on the period of the Civil War. While the material may have been regarded as of 'Signals' interest, its primary value is that it provides minutiae of activities and incidents generated within, or affecting, the various commands. The historian should find that it complements other Civil War documentation. With regard to its 'Signals' relevance, one can say that the volume of traffic and the distribution and quality of the messages indicate the existence of an underlying efficient and reliable nationwide wireless telegraphy network, operated by a highly efficient staff.
