This collection contains ‘annual’ or ‘general’ reports compiled for the Chief of Staff, which were then submitted to the Minister for Defence. The reports provide detailed information on the position of the Defence Forces during that year. Sections of the report included estimates and supplies, administration, strengths, armament and ordnance, recruitment, organisation, training, vehicles, accommodation, barrack services, and troop welfare, morale and combat efficiency. Subjects in the reports also included defence plans, and summaries from the various corps and the reserve.
