This intelligence collection, consisting of newspaper clippings, reports, statements, geographical surveys and correspondence, focuses on Northern Ireland, the border area in both jurisdictions and British Forces in Northern Ireland and in the Treaty Ports.

It contains topographical surveys on the six counties and the border area (broken into Geographical sectors), including individual files on counties Derry, Down and Tyrone, which also cover population, military and police resources, Nationalist and Unionist Associations, communications such as railways, roads and canals, religion and political allegiances.

It also includes a strategic study of the border in regard to both the 6 counties and 26 counties (while stamped 1957, it was created around 1925), along with press cuttings and intelligence reports on political developments (including Northern Government Ministries and business in the Northern Senate), areas of tension, the financial position in Northern Ireland, the R.U.C., the ‘B’ Specials, the I.R.A., and British military movements (both in the 6 counties and the 26 counties).

Lastly, there are individual files on I.R.A. and/or National Army members arrested and interned in Northern Ireland, incidents in Pettigo and the takeover of Belleek Castle by Irish Forces in 1924 and its closure in 1926.
