This small collection covers operations and administration of the Railway Protection, Repair and Maintenance Corps and details some of the damage done to the railway network by Anti-Treaty forces during the civil war.

The collection consists of reports, returns, memoranda, radio messages, maps and correspondence from Government Ministries, members of the Corps and military command staff. Subjects include reports on damage to the rail infrastructure, track network and the trains themselves, details on train timetables for the various lines, administration of the Corps and its equipment, insurance issues for members of the Corps, challenges concerning the strength of the Corps, and complaints about the financial resources available for the administration of the Corps.
